The Department of Planning and Natural Resources has announced that pursuant to Virgin Islands Code, Title 12, Chapter 21, a meeting of the St. John Committee of the Virgin Islands Coastal Zone Management Commission has been scheduled to begin on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at 4:00 p.m.
In an effort to help to reduce the global spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), this meeting will be held via the video conferencing platform Zoom.
Items on the agenda include the Decision Meeting for the Modification Request for Major Coastal Zone Management (CZM) Permit No. CZJ-1-92(W) Virgin Islands Port Authority. The Permittee proposes to make repairs and improvements to the existing Loredon Lorence Boynes, Sr. Dock (Cruz Bay Ferry Terminal). The improvements will include the replacement of the existing roof, expansion of the passenger canopy, renovation of existing bathroom, terminal building, and utility connections.
On the dock the renovation will include the replacement of existing cleats, lighting, metal benches and planters. The concrete deck perimeter beam will be repaired, and new fending will be installed. An epoxy deck overlay will be placed on the pier. The proposed modifications are located in Cruz Bay, St. John, Virgin Islands at Latitude N 18.331437° and Longitude -64.795651°
