The Department of Planning and Natural Resources says the archery field at Estate La Grange on St. Croix will be temporarily closed for at least a month.

Via a media statement issued on Thursday, DPNR Commissioner Jean-Pierre L. Oriol announced that the field, which closed on Sunday January 15, will remain shut while the program is being redeveloped and expanded across the territory.

A new public practice schedule is expected to be announced sometime in early March, as according to Mr. Oriol, “we take some time from our very heavy field schedule to reflect on our achievements and expand our activities to all jurisdictions.”

St. Croix’s public archery program, facilitated by DPNR’s Fish and Wildlife Division and funded by the US Fish and Wildlife Service, is accessible to the public at no cost.

Any inquiries about the program can be directed to 340-773-1082.
