Project Promise will host its fifth annual Havana Nights fundraiser in support of its Caterpillar Project (TCP) program on February 13, 2021, the nonprofit has announced.  This year’s event will be a virtual experience, with the theme of The Beautiful Beaches of Cuba.

Attendees who purchase individual tickets will enjoy a unique Cuban experience with a 15-minute salsa lesson and performances from El Güiro de la Habana y Combinación Perfecta direct from Cuba, Project Promise said.  Private party packages are also available which include the salsa lesson and live music, in addition to a complete authentic Cuban dinner for ten guests, beautiful tableware and décor, raffle tickets for each guest, and opportunities to win special contests and prizes.  Everyone who purchases a ticket to the Havana Nights virtual affair will once again have the opportunity to win a trip for two to Havana, Cuba and a five-night stay at an all-inclusive beach resort.

Every year during Havana Nights, Project Promise honors three high school seniors as part of their Excellence and Leadership program, and this year will be no different.  Students selected from the St. Croix Central High school, St. Croix Educational Complex and the St. Croix Career and Technical Education Center will be acknowledged during the youth recognition portion of the event, according to the release.

The proceeds from Havana Nights benefit Project Promise’s Caterpillar Project, along with its three other programs. The Caterpillar Project, a long-term program designed to make a significant difference in the lives of at-risk youth in St. Croix.  TCP began on January 25, 2016 with selected fifth graders from the Lew Muckle Elementary School, the support of the Department of Education, and community partners.
