ST. CROIX — Several areas on St. Croix will experience a potable water service interruption today while WAPA contractor, Leumas Engineering, interconnects new waterlines to existing service lines at the Hospital Street, New Street, Lobster Street and Little Lobster Street intersections, said the authority.  The work is part of the ongoing Christiansted Waterline Rehabilitation Project.

WAPA said customers in the affected areas will experience either reduced water pressure or a complete service interruption beginning at 7 a.m. and continuing through 9:00 p.m. The affected areas include: New Street, Eastern Suburb, Little Hospital Street, Gallows Bay, Hospital Street, Tulipan Welcome, Flamboyant Welcome, Eliza’s Retreat, Altona, Tide Village and Estate Welcome.

All efforts will be made to minimize the duration of the water service outages, according to the release.
