The V.I. Department of Finance on Monday acknowledged a payroll processing error that may cause some government employees to temporarily receive two direct deposit transactions during the current pay cycle.

According to the department, an initial deposit may appear ahead of the correct payroll payment. Employees were advised not to use the first deposit, which began appearing Monday, December 22, as it will be reversed. The correct payroll deposit will be issued on December 23, as originally scheduled.

Finance officials apologized for the inconvenience and said they are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, assuring employees and agency heads that corrective steps are being taken to safeguard payroll accuracy.

Employees needing clarification or assistance were directed to contact Director Grace Lindo at [email protected].
