The 3rd Annual Virgin Islands Paté Festival is returning to the Agricultural Fair Grounds on Sunday, June 22, promising a full day of family fun, cultural pride, and, of course, plenty of delicious patés.
Hosted by SMT Enterprise and Laced Legacy, this community celebration runs from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and invites residents and visitors alike to experience the food, music, and traditions that make Crucian culture so vibrant.
With general admission set at $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 5 to 12 (children under 5 are free), the festival is designed to be affordable and inclusive for families. Beyond being a food event, organizers say the day will serve as a cultural hub for fellowship and entertainment, centered around one of the Virgin Islands' most iconic delicacies.
Festivalgoers can expect a wide selection of patés, prepared by local vendors showcasing meat, seafood, and vegetarian options. In addition to the paté offerings, a variety of traditional Virgin Islands dishes will be available, ensuring something for every palate.
The festival will also feature local craft vendors, kid-friendly attractions included with admission, and live cultural entertainment for all ages. The lineup includes performances from beloved local acts like No Problemo, Pollo Base Covers Live, the legendary Ten Sleepless Knights (TSK), and rising stars Controverzy. Keeping the energy high throughout the day will be DJ Felix, Bootlegacy, and MC Bogle. The Guardians of Culture Moko Jumbies will also make a special appearance, bringing their towering, crowd-pleasing presence to the fairgrounds.
Among the highlights is the Best Paté Competition, where vendors will compete in various categories. Judging will be conducted blindly, and winners will receive trophies and prizes. The competition will be complemented by a People’s Choice Award, named in honor of the late Randall Lucien James, affectionately known as Randy Paté. Attendees will be able to cast votes for their favorite vendor, with the winner crowned based on popular support. Festival organizers note that attendees must be present to vote.
The event is backed by a strong network of community sponsors, and organizers extended heartfelt thanks for their continued support. They noted that this support not only helps the festival grow each year but also plays a vital role in promoting cultural pride throughout the Virgin Islands.
Organizers noted that the Paté Festival is more than just a food event—it’s a celebration of St. Croix’s rich heritage, strong family bonds, and vibrant local talent.
