ST. THOMAS — A driver's attempt to pass another vehicle on Bolongo Bay Road resulted in an accident that left the driver injured, according to a police report.

According to police spokesman Toby Derima, on Tuesday at roughly 8:03 a.m., officers of the Traffic Bureau responded to the accident to investigate.

The investigation revealed that while traveling east on the Bolongo Bay Road, the driver of a gray Honda Civic made an attempt to overtake another vehicle. The driver of the Honda Civic lost control and collided with a utility pole. The collision caused a power outage in the surrounding area, said Mr. Derima.
