The Virgin Islands Port Authority (VIPA), plans to sell up to 520 cubic yards (cy) of beach quality sand. The sand will be accessible for collection from the Urman Victor Fredericks Marine Terminal - Barge Dock (also known as the Red Hook Marine Terminal), during maintenance dredging activities planned for later this year.
Soil testing reports included in the sales package suggest the sand is of beach-quality, however, VIPA does not guarantee the suitability of use for all of the sand potentially available. The sand will be sold 'as-is' to the bidder offering the highest unit price per cubic yard, who will then be deemed the 'preferred bidder'.
Bidders can submit their proposals for the sand purchase until June 9, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. via the Authority’s e-Procurement site at https://viportbids.ionwave.net.
Those interested in buying can view and download the full package through the same e-Procurement site. Any questions related to this notice should be submitted electronically through the question tab on the e-Procurement site by May 31, 2023.
VIPA reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, waive any informality, or accept any bid deemed to be in the best interest of the Authority.
