Virgin Islands National Park to Host Public Meeting on January 8

The Virgin Islands National Park has announced its next public meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, January 8, 2025. The session will take place from 5:45 PM to 6:45 PM in the Resource Management and Science (RMS) building conference room at Lind Point.

Topics to be discussed

The meeting agenda includes updates on key projects and initiatives within the park, such as:

  • The second phase of environmental cleanup work at Caneel Bay.
  • Progress on the water system project at Trunk Bay.
  • Preservation efforts at Hassel Island.
  • Additional work on the historic Cinnamon Bay Danish Warehouse.
  • Mapping of cultural resources and documentation of archaeological resources at Caneel Bay.

 

Logistics and Accessibility

To accommodate attendees, limited parking will be available at the RMS building. Additionally, a shuttle service will run from the Cruz Bay Visitor Center, departing at 5:30 PM and returning from Lind Point at 6:45 PM.

Park officials encourage community members to attend and engage in discussions about these significant initiatives aimed at preserving and enhancing the Virgin Islands National Park’s natural and historical resources.
