National Park Service Invites Proposals for Snorkeling and Watersports Equipment at Virgin Islands Park

The National Park Service has announced a unique 10-year concessions opportunity for a watersports contract at Virgin Islands National Park. The successful applicant will provide snorkel and equipment rental, as well as instruction services, at the popular Trunk Bay Beach.

Paul P. Jones, Commercial Services Specialist for the park, said, "We are seeking a passionate and innovative operator who is committed to providing high-quality services to our visitors." The NPS is inviting business proposals detailing how offerors would ensure safe watersports and recreational opportunities for park visitors.

The prospectus, which outlines the business opportunity and the terms and conditions under which the NPS will award the concession contract, must be submitted by August 23, 2023, no later than 3:00 p.m. All questions regarding the opportunity are due by June 28, 2023, and the Notification of Intent to Propose must be received by July 6, 2023. Interested parties should contact Cherrie Brice, Concessions Management Specialist, at [email protected] for further information.

The NPS website (www.nps.gov/subjects/concessions/prospectuses.htm) offers helpful resources, including tips for submitting a competitive proposal that addresses due diligence, proposal content, and presentation.

Proposals, including original signed transmittal letters, must be submitted via the process detailed in the Proposal Instructions by 3:00 pm ET on August 23, 2023. The original signed transmittal letters should be mailed to National Park Service, Concessions Office, 100 Alabama Street, N.W., Bldg 1924, 6th Floor, Mailroom, Atlanta, Georgia 30303. The remaining portion of the proposal will only be accepted electronically via the process explained in the Proposal Instructions.
