T-Mobile Puerto Rico has contributed $50,000 in donations to selected nonprofit organizations in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, with $10,000 each going to five local nonprofits. Among the recipients is My Brother's Workshop in the U.S. Virgin Islands, an organization established in 2007.
MBW is focused on offering hope, healing, and purpose to at-risk youth in the USVI. It achieves this through a comprehensive approach that includes mentorship, education, counseling, job training, and placement.
The decision to select the nonprofit recipients was made by T-Mobile Puerto Rico employees, who are recognizing the dedication and commitment of the organizations and volunteers in their respective communities. The opportunity came as a result of Puerto Rico being awarded the Difference Maker Award by T-Mobile, because the team’s stellar performance for the previous quarter ranked them best in overall business performance.
Jorge Martel, general manager for T-Mobile Puerto Rico, expressed pride in the employees' dedication and their meaningful investments in the community. “We’re building something truly amazing as we make meaningful investments in our network, our customers, and our people, and we won’t stop,” he said.
Other recipients of the T-Mobile donations include El Comedor de la Kennedy, Fundación Hospital Pediátrico (Pediatric Hospital Foundation), Boys and Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico, and Santuario de Animales San Francisco de Asís – Animal Rescue.
