On #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to generosity and giving back, over 150 supporters of My Brother's Workshop united to raise a $210,966. This event, which took place on November 28th, saw people around the world engaging in acts of kindness and support for causes they believe in.
The success of MBW's #GivingTuesday initiative is attributed to the collective effort and generosity of its staff, trainees, board members, committee members, and supporters. The organization expressed deep gratitude for the support shown, emphasizing that such achievements would not be possible without the dedication and commitment of the community.
A major contribution to the fundraising effort came from matching donors, including ICMC/IPB - The Stephenson Family ($35,000), The Sheehan Family ($10,000), Tom Klotzbach & Claire Starkey ($10,000), HMRT ($10,000), The Anasetti Family ($10,000), Fred & Sharon Hupprich ($2,000), and Ned White ($1,500). Their generosity, coupled with the support of numerous MBW backers, played a pivotal role in reaching the remarkable total, the nonprofit said.
MBW celebrated this achievement with a Thank You Reception at their campus, where many supporters gathered to mark the occasion.
The event not only served as a celebration of the #GivingTuesday success but also as a kickoff for the year-end giving season. MBW aims to reach a year-end fundraising goal of $300,000, with all donations contributing to the organization’s mission of enrolling students and providing them with mentoring, mental health counseling, education, on-the-job training, and job placement.
