Merchants Commercial Bank, understanding the importance of proper document destruction and disposal, has invited the community to join them on Saturday, December 7, in the Merchants Financial Center Parking Lot in Tutu (adjacent to Office Max) for a free Shred Event.

Individuals are welcome to bring up to 75 pounds (or two banker’s boxes) worth of personal documents to be shredded on-site by Capital Records Management’s state of the art mobile shredding truck, the bank said.

In lieu of payment, MCB and CRM have partnered with The Salvation Army, who will also be on-site, accepting donations of canned goods and gently used clothing. Cash donations are of course welcome as well, according to the release.

The release described MCB is a Virgin Islands chartered, FDIC insured, boutique commercial bank bringing state-of-the-art internet and traditional banking services to the Virgin Islands community. Based in St. Thomas but also serving St. John and St. Croix, MCB works with businesses and individuals to craft financial solutions that fit their unique circumstances.
