Lieutenant Governor Tregenza Roach departed the territory on Thursday for the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) Commissioners’ Conference in Amelia Island, Florida, according to the Office of the Lieutenant Governor.

As the commissioner of insurance for the U.S. Virgin Islands, Mr. Roach, a member of the NAIC, engages in conferences, trainings, and meetings funded by the NAIC.

The NAIC, a U.S. standard-setting organization, includes insurance regulators from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and five U.S. Territories, including the Virgin Islands. It provides expertise, data, and analysis to regulators, aiding in effective industry regulation and consumer protection.

Mr. Roach is scheduled to return on February 12. During his absence, Senate President Novelle E. Francis, Jr. will assume his duties, as outlined in the Revised Organic Act of the Virgin Islands.
