The Office of Veterans Affairs has announced that it will be hosting a Veterans Appreciation Day Sail on Saturday, December 3 on St. Thomas, with entertainment from Spectrum Band.
The sail was initially scheduled for Nov. 5, "but due to inclement weather on that day was postponed," the local VA said.
All Veterans interested in attending the day sail should visit the St. Thomas office between November 28-30 between 8:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Veterans Appreciation Day T-Shirt will be issued between Monday and Wednesday at the Office of Veterans Affairs, the local VA said. The T-shirts being issued will serve as the ticket for admission on the vessel, the Kon Tiki, according to the release.
Sail event details
- Free entrance aboard the Kontiki
- Free entertainment by Spectrum Band
- Free lunch and a free t-shirt will be provided
- Saturday Dec 3, 2022
- 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- Boarding will take place across from Banco Popular on the waterfront in St. Thomas.
All veterans will be required to sign an indemnity waiver at the time of RSVP, according to the release.
