ST. THOMAS — Liberty VI is offering free international long-distance calls from the U.S. Virgin Islands to Venezuela through June 28, a temporary measure the company says is intended to support the Venezuelan community following recent earthquakes affecting parts of Venezuela.

The offer applies to all Liberty mobile customers in the USVI, including both personal and business accounts. According to Liberty, customers can make free international long-distance calls to Venezuela beginning at 11:59 p.m. June 25 and continuing through June 28, 2026.

The company said the initiative is meant to help customers check on relatives, coordinate aid or remain in contact with family members and colleagues during the situation.

"At Liberty, we recognize the importance of staying connected during emergencies. We want to support the Venezuelan community in the Virgin Islands by making it easier for them to communicate with their loved ones or colleagues in Venezuela when they need it most," said Giovanna Ramírez de Arellano, Senior Director of Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility at Liberty.

Liberty said the waiver of charges will apply automatically to mobile calls made from the USVI to numbers in Venezuela between June 26 and June 28. Customers do not need to take any additional steps to receive the benefit.

The company said Liberty VI remains committed to supporting the communities it serves and responding quickly to events that affect customers and their families.
