The V.I. Dept. of Education has announced a significant update concerning the proposed demolition and rebuilding of St. Croix Central High School. Adhering to Virgin Islands Rules and Regulations, Title 12, Chapter 21, Section 904-9, the department has rescheduled the public hearings specifically to address the demolition and subsequent reconstruction of the school.

Originally planned by the St. Croix Committee of the Virgin Islands Coastal Zone Management Commission, these crucial hearings have been moved to Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at 5:30 pm. This session will focus on the plans for the complete overhaul of St. Croix Central High School.

The rescheduled meeting will now be hosted by the V.I. Department of Planning and Natural Resources using the Microsoft Teams video conferencing platform. A significant item on the agenda is the application for Federal Consistency Determination, CZM0028-23. This application, submitted by the V.I. Department of Education, proposes the federally funded demolition and subsequent new construction of the St. Croix Central High School.

The public is invited to participate in this meeting. The details for joining the meeting are as follows:
