There is currently no visitation at the Juan F. Luis Hospital.
That’s the word from JFL officials following a shootout at Peter’s Rest in the wee hours of Saturday morning that left four people needing hospitalization, with two in critical condition.
Just after midday on Saturday, a post to JFL’s Facebook page read, “Please be advised as of 9:00 a.m. March 4, 2023, due to the recent increase in violence in our community and out of an abundance of caution for our patients and staff, all visitation to JFL and the VI Cardiac Center will be suspended for 72 hours.”
The safety of the staff and patients, the hospital said, was its top priority.
No visitors will be allowed in any hospital department until at least Tuesday, according to the hospital’s timeframe.
