Aliyah Boston. By. SOUTH CAROLINA GAMECOCKS
Aliyah Boston — who on April 3 along with her South Carolina Gamecocks teammates defeated UConn to win the national NCAA Women's Basketball title — will be honored today in St. Thomas, her native land, with a host of events.
It all begins with a plaque unveiling at 10:00 a.m. at the Cyril E. King Airport, followed by a parade that starts at the Griffith Ball Park at 11:30 a.m. and culminates at the Veterans Drive Promenade, located at the waterfront apron across from the Alexander Farrelly Justice Complex.
While at the promenade, a congratulatory ceremony with several speakers will take place as the territory unites to recognize in awesome fashion one of its super stars making waves on the national front.
Thereafter, a brief Q&A session for credentialed media will be held. The Consortium will have highlights of the events, including a few pictures, story and video footage following the daylong affair.
