ST. CROIX — The V.I. Dept. of Human Service has announced a 90-day extension for all expired senior identification (ID) cards in the St. Croix district, effective immediately — a decision made in light of a delay in receiving ID card equipment and replacements, said the department.

The department said it is requesting that businesses and banking institutions recognize this announcement as the official extension for Senior Discount Cards in order for seniors to continue to use their Senior ID for banking tractions, and all other services requiring a valid Virgin Islands ID.

The DHS St. Croix District Senior ID Program is currently unable to issue and/or renew Senior IDs until further notice, said the department. The office anticipates resuming Senior Discount Card issuance and renewal operations in the St. Croix District within 90 days when the new equipment is in place.
