The V.I. Department of Human Services Head Start program will commence its school year after the Labor Day Weekend, according to a release issued Friday.

Head Start students will return to classrooms for School Year 2022-2023 on Tuesday, September 6th at all Head Start sites territory-wide.

“The Head Start Program is a beacon in the world of early childhood education. Many of today’s leaders locally and globally were Head Start students," said DHS Commissioner Kimberley Causey-Gomez. "The VIDHS Head Start Program wishes our staff, students and Head Start families a successful and positively transformative school year.”

D.H.S. reminded the community that Head Start recruitment continues, and parents should visit the Head Start administrative office at Anna’s Hope on St. Croix or Knud Hansen Complex on St. Thomas to enroll their students who will be 3 years old by December 31, 2022 but not yet 5 years old.

You may also call 340-774-0930 ext. 4201 on St. Thomas, 340-772-1981 / 340-773-1972 on St. Croix, or the Head Start Hotline at 340-244-4360 or 340-642-6282.
