Governor Albert Bryan has been out of the territory from the weekend and won't be back until Friday, said Government House Communications Director Richard Motta.

The Consortium learned of the governor's departure through other sources, as a release of his absence from the territory and Lt. Governor Roach's status as acting governor, was not issued by Government House.

Mr. Bryan revealed during a radio talk show that his oldest daughter has been ill and needed to be flown out for further medical assistance. The daughter, Aliyah Bryan, suffers with diabetes.

"For security reasons, we do not provide specific details of his itinerary. But he did leave the territory this weekend and will return Friday, God's willing," Mr. Motta said.

Mr. Roach will serve as acting governor until Mr. Bryan's return.
