Late Director Daryl A. “Mousy” George of the V.I. Fire and Emergency Medical Services By. GOVERNMENT HOUSE

Government House has released the schedule for the funeral services of the late Director Daryl A. “Mousy” George of the V.I. Fire and Emergency Medical Services. Mr. George, who was a committed public servant and well-respected figure in the community, will be commemorated with several tributes recognizing his life's work and dedication.

Candlelight Vigils to Honor George

The community will gather for candlelight vigils in memory of Mr. George. The first vigil will take place on Wednesday, November 15 at 6:30 p.m. at the Charles A. Seales Fire Station Annex on St. Croix. A second vigil is scheduled for the following evening, Thursday, November 16, at 6:30 p.m., at the Omar Brown, Sr. Fire Station in St. Thomas.

Public Viewing and Funeral Services Set

Members of the public will have the opportunity to pay their final respects as Mr. George lies in state at the Omar Brown, Sr. Fire Station on Friday, November 17, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The funeral services are slated for the next day, Saturday, November 18, at the same location, beginning with a viewing from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., followed by the funeral service from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Final Resting Place and Celebratory Repast

Mr. George will be laid to rest immediately following the funeral service at Western Cemetery #1. To honor his memory, a repast will be held at Joe’s Hot Spot, which is located across from Property and Procurement.

A Community Mourning Together

As the news of Mr. George's passing casts a shadow of grief, Government House extended its deepest sympathies to his bereaved family, friends, and colleagues. The entire community has been invited to partake in the services commemorating a man who devoted his life to serving others and left an indelible mark on the V.I. Fire and Emergency Medical Services.
