ST. THOMAS — The Joseph Gomez Elementary School will close at 12 p.m. on Feb. 5, due to an odor from a sewage line in the vicinity of the school affecting the campus’s air quality, the Dept. of Education has announced.
Department of Waste Management personnel are on the scene addressing the matter, D.O.E. said.
Buses will arrive at the school at noon to transport students to their regular drop-off locations. Parents may also pick up their children at any time. Students will be fed lunch before they are dismissed.
An update on the status of the school for Feb. 6 will be issued later today.
