ST. CROIX — On Saturday, residents who visit Gasaway on St. Croix — the brand new gas station that opened approximately one year ago and has been a popular stop for many motorists since — will be treated to special prizes and giveaways as the owners of the facility express gratitude to the St. Croix community for its patronage, while also raising funds to support nonprofits on St. Croix.

According to owner Titus Dubois, those who visit the gas station which is located on Contentment Road heading east toward the Bypass, will be treated to food samples from the facility's deli such as chicken soup, goat water, bullfoot; Johnny Cake, salt fish patties and souse.

Along with the local eats, there will be a "spin the wheel" event that gives participants an opportunity to win a number of items: auto supplies, selection of drinks, case of water, promotional items from Gasaway suppliers such as Bellows International, West Indies, CC1, Peerless, Waterspirit, Health and  Beauty supplies "and so much more," according to Mr. Dubois.

Covid-19 protocols will be in place and enforced by staff on hand, including sanitization after each customer.

Additionally, Gasaway will make monetary donations to two nonprofit organizations, namely the Queen Luis Home for Children and the Collective Collaboration, Inc., according to Mr. Dubois.

The all-day event runs from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
