Plaza Extra East on Wednesday donated two solar panels to the V.I. Police Department to replace those that were vandalized late last month. Police utilize the panels to power surveillance cameras around the territory, and those that were destroyed were located in the area of the Frederiksted Pier and were about to come online. Yusuf Yusuf, representing Plaza Extra East, said they saw the video about the incident on the Consortium and wanted to support the police department. "Me and my brothers at Plaza East wanted to donate because we notice the new, innovative approach the Police Department is doing is really great, and we wanted to be able to help," Mr. Yusuf said.
