The V.I. Fire and Emergency Services announced Saturday that a structural fire broke out at Peter's Farm Road Thursday night, prompting a swift response from emergency personnel. At approximately 10:06 p.m., units from C Company and A Company were dispatched to the scene to tackle the blaze.

When firefighters arrived, they found two abandoned buildings completely engulfed in flames, VIFEMS said. Crews quickly assessed the situation and initiated entry from the northern side of the structures to combat the fire. After three hours of rigorous effort, the fire was brought under control. By 1:30 a.m. on Friday, 2024, the scene was successfully cleared. Nearby properties were protected and no injuries were reported during the incident.

However, the fire rekindled hours later. At 7:57 a.m. on Friday, prompting VIFEMS to respond following another 911 call reporting smoke from the previously burned buildings. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered smoldering on the roof and around multiple sections of the structures, including the front, rear, and sides. Fire crews quickly extinguished the remaining hot spots within 15 minutes, preventing the fire from flaring up again.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, with VIFEMS working to determine the origin of the blaze.
