The distribution of water filters from January 18 to 20 by the Water and Power Authority will only occur in one location this week.

WAPA previously announced that eligible customers could visit the Mall of St. Croix from Thursday through Saturday to collect their filters, however an announcement on Tuesday evening informed that only the Frederiksted Parking Lot, adjacent to Midre Cummings Park, will be used for filter distribution.

Both walk up and drive-through customers will now be accommodated at the Frederiksted Parking Lot; those in vehicles should enter Frederiksted town on Prince Street and follow signs to the pick-up stations, while customers on foot should enter from King Street and follow the signage to the tents adjacent to the park, WAPA announced.

Both pitcher and faucet filters will be distributed to eligible WAPA customers. Apart from the previously mentioned areas of eligibility (La Grange, Smithfield, Wheel of Fortune, Stoney Ground, White Lady, Hannah’s Rest, Whim, Williams Delight, Mount Pleasant, Adventure Hill, Paradise, Grove Place, St. George, Estate Diamond West, Castle Burke, Colquhoun, Mon Bijou, Profit, Barren Spot, Sion Farm, St. John, Montpellier East, and Strawberry Hill), customers in Frederiksted Town have now also been included in the distribution efforts.

Apart from residing in the aforementioned areas, WAPA customers must also have had metered water usage between April and September of last year.

Apart from distributing the filters, WAPA will also provide video and print information about how to install and use the devices. Customers are encouraged to visit the purpose-built website to obtain more information and to pre-register for their filters.
