DLCA's Latest Survey Shows Cheapest Gas in USVI: Discover Where to Fill Up

The V.I. Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs has released its most recent territory-wide fuel price survey findings. The survey, which was conducted across the islands of St. Croix, St. Thomas, and St. John, aims to keep the public informed about the most affordable fuel prices throughout the territory.

According to the survey on St. Croix, the average price per gallon for self-service regular and premium gasoline stood at $3.789 and $4.126 respectively. The lowest price for self-service regular gasoline, at $3.599 per gallon, was found at Five Corners Service Station, G Max Service Station, and One Love Service Station Golden Rock. For premium gasoline, Gateway Service Station provided the best price at $3.799 per gallon. Super Tanks Service Station, Shuama Service Station, and Titan Service Station recorded the lowest diesel price at $3.999 per gallon.

In St. Thomas, self-service regular and premium gasoline averaged at higher prices of $4.886 and $5.359 per gallon respectively. Home Town offered the most economical prices at $4.699 for regular and $4.999 for premium gasoline. For diesel, the best deal was available at 1st Stop, 1st Stop Frydenhoj, and RaceTrack East for $5.799 per gallon.

Over on St. John, the lowest self-service prices for regular and premium gasoline were found at Racetrack Gas Station, costing $5.059 and $5.299 per gallon respectively. E-C Gas Station offered the second-lowest prices, with regular gasoline at $5.089 per gallon and premium at $5.309. The lowest price for diesel was found at Racetrack Gas Station for $5.599 per gallon.

In addition to the survey results, the DLCA also released the latest rack rate prices as issued by Gulf Oil at Ocean Point Terminals, effective from July 24 to July 30, 2023. Including the $.14/gallon tax, the new rack prices are $3.2600 for regular, $3.5600 for premium, and diesel (ULSD) is at $3.0600.

The DLCA reminded all fuel station owners of their obligation to continuously and publicly display on or near each pump the minimum octane rating, the retail price per gallon, and the tax per gallon, for each blend of motor fuel dispensed, in accordance with 12A V.I.C.§ 202. The department is committed to ensuring transparency and fair practice in the fuel market across the Virgin Islands.
