The Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs has announced the gas stations territory-wide with the lowest per-gallon gas prices, as part of its regular release of rack rate prices issued by Gulf Oil at Lime Tree Bay Terminals. The rack rate prices increased on Feb. 15 and will remain unchanged until Feb. 21.
The new rack prices with the .14/gallon tax, according to DLCA, are: $2.2600 for regular, $2.3300 for premium, and diesel (ULSD) is at $2.2400.
DLCA said it conducted a territory-wide fuel price survey on Tuesday. The department said the fuel surveys are designed to inform consumers of the most affordable fuel prices. "Although the fuel prices have increased by at least $0.50 at selected service stations, there are still fuel stations with prices under $3.00 per gallon as of the time and date of the instant press release," said DLCA, which issued the release Wednesday.
“DLCA is aware of and hears the community’s outcry regarding the overnight exorbitant increase in fuel prices,” stated DLCA Commissioner Richard Evangelista. “DLCA is currently investigating the immediate price increase and shall inform the community about its findings when the investigation is complete and refer the matter to the Department of Justice, if necessary. In the interim, I encourage consumers to utilize the information contained in the fuel survey to make wise financial decisions. A penny saved is a penny earned a/k/a one one fill basket.”

St. Croix
The lowest prices for self-service regular and self-service premium under $3.00 per gallon were found at Five Corners Service Station, Freedom City Service Station, One Love Service Stations -Golden Rock, LaGrande Princesse and Hannah’s Rest, PUMA Golden Rock and Sunny Isles, Rite Way Service Station and Ziggy’s Market Service Station for self-service regular. The lowest price for diesel was $2.499 per gallon at Freedom City Service Station.
St. Thomas
The lowest prices for self-service regular fuel under $3.00 were found at 1st Stop, 1st Stop Frydenjoj, Gas Works, Ali Baba, Petrus Polyberg, Race Track and Puma Bovoni. The lowest price for self-service premium under $3.00 per gallon were found at 1st Stop, 1st Stop Frydenjoj, Gas Works, Ali Baba, Race Track and Puma Bovoni. 1st Stop and 1st Stop Frydenhoj has the lowest price for diesel at $3.299 per gallon
St. John
The lowest self-service prices were found at Racetrack at $3.49 per gallon for regular and $3.59 per gallon for premium. The lowest price for diesel was found at Race Track for $3.87 per gallon.
