The Office of the Lieutenant Governor has announced the schedule for real property tax auction sales, set to occur on the following dates:

  • District of St. Thomas & St. John: Monday, June 3 and Tuesday, June 4, 2024
  • District of St. Croix: Tuesday, June 11 and Wednesday, June 12, 2024

Final Auction Lists will be made available in newspapers of general circulation across the territory and online through the Citizen Access Portal at propertytax.vi.gov 30 days before the start of each auction event.

Registration Requirements

Individuals interested in participating in the auction must attend in person and complete the registration process before the close of business on the day preceding the auction. The registration fee is $50, and registration documents will be available online 30 days before the start of each auction event.

Payment Plan Exclusions

Properties with delinquencies that have an active payment plan will be excluded from final collection actions, such as property tax auction sales or foreclosures. Payment plans can be initiated and maintained online at propertytax.vi.gov.

Final Auction List Details

Once the Final Auction Lists are published for each district, payment plans will no longer be accepted for those properties. To remove a property from the Final Auction Lists once published, full payment of all taxes, interest, penalties, and fees is required before 3:00 PM on the business day before each auction date.
