Bureau of Motor Vehicles to Halt Vehicle Registration as Part of Governor Bryan's 'Soft Shutdown' From Nov. 30-Dec. 4

The Bureau of Motor Vehicles on Friday said it will be reducing some services to the motoring public from November 30, to December 4, which the bureau said adhere's to Governor Albert Bryan's "soft shutdown".  Among the reduced services, BMV said it will halt vehicle registration from Nov. 30-Dec. 4.

The Bureau said the following will be implemented Nov. 30-Dec. 4:

  • Vehicle Registration services, including the BMV dropbox system will be closed during this period. Customers who dropped off documents to the BMV prior to November 30 will be provided appointments to retrieve and pay for transactions. Customers are reminded to come to the BMV only at the appointment time.  
  • The bureau will waive the requirement for inspection for any customer that renew their vehicle registration online. If customers need assistance in setting up an account or for technical assistance, send an email to the bureau at [email protected]
  • Customers with driver’s license related services will keep their normal appointments, however, customers are reminded to come to the BMV only at the appointment time.  

 

According to the release, Ms. McIntosh thanked the community for understanding during this public health emergency.
