Banks Announce Adjusted Operating Hours Due to Tropical Storm Ernesto

As Tropical Storm Ernesto approaches the Virgin Islands, several banks have announced adjustments to their operating hours to ensure the safety of their clients and employees.

Popular

Banco Popular has announced that all its branches in the U.S. and British Virgin Islands will close early at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The operating hours for Wednesday, August 14, will be announced on Tuesday. Specifically, the Virgin Gorda branch will be open on Tuesday, August 13, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and will remain closed on Wednesday, August 14.

Clients are encouraged to utilize Popular's online banking services, including Mi Banco Mobile, Mi Banco Online, Mobile Easy Deposit, and Retiro Móvil (Mobile Withdrawal). ATMs and TeleBanco services will remain available 24/7. For internet banking assistance, customers can call 1-888-724-3655 or email [email protected]. First Bank VI

First Bank VI announced that all its branches will close at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Customers can still access First Bank's services through ATMs and the bank’s suite of online services.

Oriental Bank

Oriental Bank has also adjusted its operating hours due to the impending storm. Both its St. Thomas and St. Croix branches will close early at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The branches will reopen when weather conditions permit. 

Customers of Oriental Bank are urged to stay connected through Online Banking and Mobile Banking, which provide 24/7 access. These services allow customers to access balances, make payments, transfer funds between accounts, and verify transactions.

Additionally, customers can use the automated voice system by calling 1-800-981-5554 for various banking services around the clock.

As the storm approaches, residents are advised to stay informed and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety and that of their families.
