Update: Viya Says Full Restoration Expected Within Hours

UPDATE: In a followup release issued Friday night, Viya said services were being restored and were expected to be "back online within the next couple hours." One of the company's fiber cables was cut mistakenly by AT&T contractors performing work in St. Thomas.

ORIGINAL STORY: ST. THOMAS — Today Viya customers located on the east end of St. Thomas, and St. John were adversely affected due to damage from a major fiber cut that occurred as a result of work being done by AT&T, Viya announced today.

Viya said its technicians are diligently working on a resolution and will continue until all services are fully restored.

"The community will be updated on the status of the restoration. Viya apologizes for the inconvenience this matter has caused its customers," Viya said.
