According to Gov't House, the governor has ordered that all U.S. Virgin Island flags be lowered to half-mast beginning at sunrise on Monday, February 28, 2022, until sunset on Friday, March 4, 2022.

“He was an extraordinary human being, contributing here in the Virgin Islands as a Senator, a Lieutenant Governor and a long, long, long just as an average citizen on the radio, helping being that voice from the storms,” Mr. Bryan said during Monday’s weekly press briefing.

There will be a memorial service on Tuesday, March 1, at the University of the Virgin Islands Orville E. Kean Campus on St. Thomas.

Mr. Ottley will lie in state at the V.I. Legislature on Wednesday, March 2 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Earle B. Ottley Legislative Hall on St. Thomas.

He will then lie in state at Gov't House in St. Thomas the same day before being laid to rest at the Eastern Cemetery, according to Governor Bryan.
