Government House on Monday announced that over $5.1 million in income tax refunds have been released. This follows last week’s announcement of roughly the same amount.
This batch of income tax refunds will go to 1260 Virgin Islanders who filed returns by June 27, 2022, said Bryan administration communications director, Richard Motta.
Despite the two-year delay, Mr. Motta said the recent refund payouts “are a testament to our commitment to transparency and responsiveness” to “one of the most asked questions of our administration.”

Additionally, Government House has assured that efforts are being made to address the backlog of refunds still pending. Mr. Motta emphasized that the administration is working diligently to process and release these refunds in a timely manner, aiming to bring relief to taxpayers who have been waiting for their refunds.
