The Division of Personnel has announced that the Annual Open Enrollment period for active government employees and retirees will commence on Monday, August 14 and conclude on Friday, September 15, 2023. Elsewhere, the Virgin Islands Board of Nurse Licensure (VIBNL) has initiated its new online nurse portal and is now accepting 2023-2025 renewal applications for all Registered Nurses (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRN).
Open Enrollment
During the open enrollment period, all active GVI employees and retirees have the opportunity to enroll, make changes to their health plan, life insurance, and/or update their beneficiaries. The Division of Personnel will host several Open Enrollment sessions, both in-person and virtually, in collaboration with partnering healthcare providers to ensure that both employees and retirees are fully informed about their entitled benefits.
In-person enrollment sessions are planned in St. Croix on August 14, St. Thomas on August 15, and St. John on August 16. Active employees, retirees, and Human Resource officers are encouraged to attend these sessions, which will cover navigation and utilization of the Bentek eligibility system. VIBNL Online Portal
The VIBNL has launched its new online nurse portal, where all RNs and APRNs are required to submit their renewal applications for the period 2023-2025. Applications must be submitted via the Nurse Portal located on the new website, https://vibnl.vi.gov/ before the deadline of December 1, 2023. Late submissions will incur a penalty, and applications submitted after December 1 will not be processed until January 3, 2024.
Changes to health plans and life insurance for GVI employees and retirees must be completed by 11:59 PM on September 15, 2023, with new benefits or changes becoming effective from October 1, 2023.
