ST. THOMAS — The inclement weather could not dampen the spirit of service of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s legacy and the members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. "Service to All Mankind", who participated in service projects on St. Thomas and St. John Monday.
Members from Sigma Theta Omega Chapter in the St. Thomas/St. John District and Rho Omicron from the University of the Virgin Islands held a commemorative program for the residents of Bethlehem House Homeless Shelter and served a meal, said the sorority.
On St. John members distributed meals in Cruz Bay, St. John to emergency service personnel and the community at large.
On St. Thomas, members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. also participated in the Annual Peace March hosted by Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
