Agriculture Department Announces Free Produce Distribution for Eligible Seniors on St. Croix

The V.I. Dept. of Agriculture will distribute free produce bags to eligible seniors on St. Croix on Nov. 14 & 15, with applications available online and at VIDA offices as the agency plans additional distribution announcements for St. Thomas and St. John.

The Virgin Islands Department of Agriculture is offering a free bag of produce to eligible seniors on St. Croix as part of its ongoing food support initiatives. The distribution is open to residents aged 60 years or older, low-income households, and individuals who meet U.S. Virgin Islands residency requirements.

The free produce pickups will take place on:

  • Friday, November 14, 2025 — 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

  • Saturday, November 15, 2025 — 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

To participate, seniors must complete an application, which can be found at doa.vi.gov/forms under “Other Documents.” Completed forms may be dropped off at any VIDA office or submitted to Marketing Director Shantel Douglas at [email protected]. Applicants must provide a valid ID and proof of income.

Information regarding distribution dates for St. Thomas and St. John will be announced soon. The Department of Agriculture encourages eligible seniors to apply and take advantage of the program.
