The United States Geological Survey (USGS) has issued a notification for a magnitude 4.8 earthquake that impacted the Virgin Islands early Sunday. USVI residents have reported feeling the impact of the quake.
The earthquake occurred at a distance of 74.8 km (46.4 miles) NNE of Cruz Bay, 81.2 km (50.4 miles) NE of Charlotte Amalie, 136.8 km (84.8 miles) NNE of St. Croix, 140.9 km (87.4 miles) ENE of Fajardo, Puerto Rico, and 155.2 km (96.2 miles) ENE of Río Grande, Puerto Rico.
Aside from the U.S. Virgin Islands, the earthquake also impacted several locations across the Caribbean. Affected countries and territories include the British Virgin Islands, Dominica, Saint Martin, Sint Maarten, Guadeloupe, Montserrat, Puerto Rico, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Venezuela, the Caribbean Netherlands, Saint Barthélemy, Antigua and Barbuda, and Anguilla.
