ST. CROIX — A 3-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of Plaza Extra West on Sunday morning, leaving the child injured but in stable condition, the V.I. Police Department has announced.
V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima said police were dispatched to the scene at 11:33 a.m. to investigate the accident. According to a police report, the boy ran out into the parking lot in front of a moving vehicle. The driver of the vehicle stopped, but the boy’s leg was already impacted, police said.
The child was assisted by his mother and other witnesses and was rushed to the Juan F. Luis Hospital in his mother's vehicle, where he was said to be in stable condition, according to the V.I.P.D.
