VITRAN fixed-route bus service on St. Croix and St. Thomas will be suspended at 5 p.m. and through the night on Fri., Oct. 31 in an effort to keep passengers safe and protect the buses against vandalism.
Public Works Commissioner Darryl A. Smalls made the announcement on Thursday, noting that in past years the public buses have been vandalized during the night hours on Halloween.
All buses will resume their normal schedules on Sat., Nov. 1.
The suspended service does not affect the ADA Paratransit System; it will operate as normal on Oct. 31.
VITRAN recently received a fleet of new buses for both St. Croix and St. Thomas.
