Humane Inclusion Experience Exhibit

Ft. Christian - The Steeple Building - Now to Feb. 20

The photographic exhibit will depict the lives of those living with physical challenges. It is FREE and open to the public. The Humane Inclusion Program is a four-week summer nature and outdoor healing and interactive relationship building experience. It is based on understanding differences in individual abilities. This event is held in July at the Salt River Bay Historical Park and Ecological Reserve, and various places on St. Croix.

Public Viewing

UVI Etelman Observatory, St. Thomas Campus - 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The University of the Virgin Islands College of Science and Mathematics and the Etelman Observatory will host its next public observing session using the Virgin Islands Robotic Telescope TONIGHT! The public will be treated to views of the great Globular Cluster in Hercules; the Orion Star Forming Nebula; Jupiter and a waning gibbous Moon. The event is FREE, but space is limited. Shuttle service will be provided from the Sibilly School parking lot (near Sibs). Arrive at the shuttle stop about 20-30 minutes before scheduled session start time. 10^thAnnual Community Health Fair

St. Croix Rescue Academy, Five Corners - 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Rotary Club of St. Croix, Rotary Club of St. Croix – Harborside, and St. Croix Rescue is again joining forces to educate and inform the public of important health information. Renowned pediatrician/geneticist, Dr. Alberto S Cornier, MD, PhD, and St. Croix's Hyperbaric Medical Group geared toward treating people with diabetes, will be a part of this year's fair. Some activities will include glucose, cholesterol & HIV/AIDS screening, a blood drive, a demonstration by St. Croix Rescue's Extrication Special Tactical Team and more. Youth Wise Up

UVI Great Hall, Albert Sheen Campus, St. Croix - 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

February is national "Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month" and the Virgin Islands Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Council Community Outreach Specialists have planned a full day of workshops and activities for teens to address issues that affect them. Presentations will come from the Men's Coalition, Inner Changes, the Department of Health, and more. Topics will include sexting, social media, healthy relationships, self-esteem and teen dating violence.

"Noche de Bohemia" Hispanic Democratic Club Scholarship Fundraiser

Club Comanche Hotel at 7 p.m.

In an effort to ensure more Latino youth beat the odds and attend college, the Hispanic Democratic Club of St. Croix is hosting its second annual fundraiser. All proceeds will benefit the newly established Freddie Gomez Latino Scholarship, which helps two deserving Hispanic students in financial need attend college. The scholarship was named in honor of Freddie Gomez, an academically talented and gifted student athlete at St. Croix's Free Will Baptist high school who lost his life last December in a drowning accident. St. Thomas Synagogue's 16th Annual Antiques, Art and Collectibles Auction

Antilles School MCM Center beginning at 10 a.m.

Enjoy "flea market" sale tables bidding on 300-plus items in the silent auction, and a preview of the 45 live auction items. The gavel falls at noon for the live auction. Bruce Wilson of St. Croix will be the auctioneer. Off-island shipping or on-island delivery may be arranged at the auction. The live auction will feature antique West Indian furniture from Philip Sturm, wining and dining packages, and much more. American Sign Language Classes

UVI St. Thomas & St. Croix campuses

Classes in American Sign Language will be offered by UVI's Virgin Islands University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities, from Feb. 9 through April 16. Two levels of instruction will be offered, including beginners Level I classes, scheduled for on Mondays and Wednesdays. Beginners Level II classes are on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Sessions on St. Thomas will run from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Room 114 of the Teacher Education building. St. Croix sessions will take place from 5:45 to 7:15 p.m. at the VIUCEDD Office, located at #1 Golden Grove. The cost is $150 per course.
