The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority announced on Thursday night that a major electrical service interruption has affected the island of St. Croix.
WAPA said that at approximately 6:49 pm, generation capacity at the Estate Richmond Power Plant was lost, tripping all feeders in the district.
At 7:57 p.m., power had yet to be restored. WAPA said plant personnel were working to rebuild capacity so as to restore service to the affected customers.
