Valdamier Collens is being paid $125,000 annually – a $28,000 increase over his predecessor, Angel Dawson. At $125,000, Collens makes the same salary as Lt. Governor Osbert Potter.
ST. THOMAS – The office of the Government Insurance Fund (GIF) at the Department of Finance will be closed all day Friday, according to Finance Commissioner designee Valdamier Collens.
Collens said the GIF office at the Department of Finance at 2314 Kronprindsens Gade on St. Thomas and 4008 Estate Diamond on St. Croix will be closed on April 24 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to allow staff to attend funeral services for co-worker Pat E. Thomas.
The Finance Department said it apologizes for any inconvenience the closure may cause, and appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this time of grief.
