Government House Electrical Service Interruption, Queen Cross St. Road Closure

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority (WAPA) is announcing an electrical service interruption to Government House in Christiansted, St. Croix, on Thurs., April 2 from 6 a.m. to noon. As part of the Christiansted Underground Project, WAPA crews in conjunction with Fortress Electric will continue to transfer Government House's electrical service from aerial power lines to the Feeder #1 underground circuit.

During the working period, Queen Cross St., between Company and King Streets, will be closed to vehicular traffic. Motorists are asked to observe signs and flaggers’ directions to ensure the safety of workers, pedestrians and other drivers.

WAPA officials say every effort will be made to restore normal vehicular traffic as soon as possible.
