The Virgin Islands Department of Public Works (DPW) Commissioner Designee Gustav James is advising the St. Thomas community that on Thursday, Jan. 22, repair work will begin along Access Road to Crown Bay and Subbase, requiring the department to close the roadway until the construction, projected to last three weeks, is completed.
Improvements will be made to the road's sidewalk and drainage system.
Motorists are urged to use alternate routes and James requests that drivers "exercise caution and look for the flagmen and traffic signs as they traverse the mentioned roadway."
DPW says motorists should also prepare for delays in the affected area.
