Volunteers from all walks of life came together for the King Street Clean-Up on Saturday, an event organized by Our Town Frederiksted to beautify one of Frederiksted’s historic streets.

The clean-up drew a strong turnout of community members, local business owners, and high school students, all dedicated to making a positive impact on their town, according to a release from OTF.

Volunteers worked to remove litter, sweep sidewalks, and restore the charm of King Street, block by block.

"The turnout was more than we could have hoped for," said Aimée Griles-Cariño, executive director of Our Town Frederiksted, Inc. "We are especially grateful for the participation of our local high school students, whose energy and commitment to their community were truly inspiring."

Our Town Frederiksted expressed its gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the event, including the V.I. Police Department, V.I. Fire Services, and the V.I. Waste Management Authority. The collective effort by these groups helped ensure the day’s success and furthered OTF's mission to revitalize Frederiksted, making it a more beautiful and welcoming place for residents, businesses, and visitors alike.

The King Street Clean-Up is just one of several projects OTF is planning as part of its ongoing efforts to restore Frederiksted. The organization will soon roll out additional community-focused initiatives and encourages residents to stay engaged and participate in future efforts.
