The Alexander Henderson Elementary School has prepared a number of activities for Black History Month, among them a day on which students will wear African attire, and a Wakanda Drawing Contest inspired by the bestselling and Oscar-nominated film, Black Panther. The theme of this year's events is "African Americans in Times of War". According to Kesha Tatum, a first-grade teacher at the school and chairperson of the Black History Month Committee, some of the events are subject to change.
