Official update on Aug 29 from the Postal Service: The Caribbean District of the Postal Service will resume all retail and delivery operations today August 29, 2019.
US Virgin Islands (zip codes that begin with 008) will resume retail, delivery, and collections operations at 7am EST on August 29, 2019. Puerto Rico (zip codes that begin with 006, 007, & 009) will resume retail, delivery, and collections operations at 8 am on August 29, 2019. As always, delivery will be provided where it is safe to do.
From the Virgin Islands Port Authority
The Henry E. Rohlsen Airport on St. Croix is open during its normal operating hours of 5:30 AM to 11 PM. The Cyril E. King Airport on St. Thomas will reopen today at 7 AM.
VIPA cannot reopen the seaports without the permission of the U.S. Coast Guard. The USCG is currently conducting assessments of the seaports territory-wide and will announce when the seaports can be reopened. We appreciate your patience as these safety assessments are completed as quickly as possible.
VIPA employees should report to work as scheduled and use their ID’s as a curfew pass. (A curfew is implemented until 8 AM in the St. Thomas/St. John district. The curfew has been lifted on St. Croix.)
From Firstbank:
On Thursday, August 29, St. Croix branches will open at 8:30AM. St.Thomas and St.John branches will open at 9:00AM.
Banco Popular
There were no updates from Banco Popular as of 7:35 a.m., but the bank is expected to resume normal operating hours on St. Croix, and right after the curfew in St. Thomas, which ends at 8:00 a.m.
Scotiabank
The bank will open 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on St. Croix, and on St. Thomas, 9:30 a.m to 4:00 p.m. Thursday
